I don’t normally use Brave, but we have had complaints today that people are having their browsers checked when they try to visit. I couldn’t see any issues, but when I tried to connect to my site using 4G, and not the router, a message came up “Brave Shields UP
1 Ads and other creepy things blocked”
I have never seen this before, and there is definitely nothing evil on my site.
There was a list of sites after this, and my site was mentioned. But then I lost the connection, and haven’t seen the message again.
How do I find what Brave thinks is an ad (there aren’t any) and if that list is a list of bad sites, how do I get off it?
Thanks for the reply, but I wasn’t concerned about my usage of Brave Shields, I don’t use it. I was concerned that my site may be reported as a bad site for some unknown reason.
I now believe that Brave reports our Javascript which connects Google Analytics, where we see how how many visitors are coming to which pages. So until a better method of collecting anonymous data about the number of visitors comes up, we will have to grin and bear it. it appears to be a very small percentage of visitors using Brave Shields anyway.
Agreed. But not by a large percentage. And the results in Google help us to see what attracts and what doesn’t, even if it’s not a full count of all visits
