Media playback in the background stopped working entirely on Brave Android Samsung S25+

It stopped working overnight. There were no updates in between.

Description of the issue:

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. Start Brave, open e.g. Odysee video

2. Try to switch to another application

Expected result:

Video shall play on background.

What happens:

Video stop playing immediately (when list of apps appears).

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version on Samsung: Brave 1.85.120, Chromium 143.0.7499.192

Version on Huawei: Brave 1.85.117, Chromium 143.0.7499.146

Mobile Device details

Samsung S25+: Android 16; Build/BP2A.250605.031.A3

Huawei P20: Android 10; Build/HUAWEIEML-L29

Additional Information:

• I tried to clear the site cookies, developer optitions (Don’t .. activity), nothing works
• I observe that if I log out my account, it allows switching to other tab (after switch it plays the sound) but when the screen locks it stops playing.
• I also observe that other platforms seems to be affected (e.g. this player https://zpravy.aktualne.cz/zahranici/mel-agent-pravo-zabit-ridicku-v-minneapolisu-klicova-jsou-dve-pravidla/r~aaa29e2ea5fefdec747251bc1b50a4d7/)

It looks to me that it is Android related as when I test it on iPhone, the audio can play on background.
Tested on Brave: Version 1.85 (116) BraveCore 1.85.116 (143.0.7499.110) Device iPhone14,4 (iOS 18.0.1)

I got the same problem here,mine is realme c55

Taking a look here. Background play is still working for me on my Galaxy S22+.
To confirm, does this occur on all sites that play media? If we test using Youtube you still see the same issue?

It is happening on all sites playing audio ( video and also audio tags). It happens also with Samsung Internet player (which also allows media play on background)

I am keeping the issue here too, because it is somehow also linked to youtube account. Because if I keep my account logged in, then it stops music even after switching to another tab (in Brave).
