Manifest file is missing or unreadable error

Description of the issue: when I open Brave, I get a ‘Manifest file is missing or unreadable’ popup (see screenshot). Once I click ‘OK’ Brave opens normally.

Note: I did a search for this and didn’t find any other threads.

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. Only happens when I open a new instance of the browser

Expected result: stop receiving the error message

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Brave 1.79.119
Chromium: 137.0.7151.68

Hi, I also started getting the same error message for both Edge and Brave since yesterday.
For me it started after doing some Windows reinstall.
Albeit the numbers after C:\Extension\ are both different

I also get the same message when opening Edge. I don’t use it (Edge) very often, so only found out about this today.

Same here. Edge and brave have an error but the versions of manifest are different.
