If Brave (and esp. search) is just a copy of Google then it will not be of much use because it will only be vying for the same audience. Millions of us are anti-Big; I for one work to not use anything from any Big Tech entity. Just for one example: I’d like a search engine that I can tailor to my world; no Social Media results (esp. Meta Corp. crap; Truth (free) social; etc.),and not just an extension like uBlacklist, which only works on Google anyway. But a browser/search with customization options that would literally reshape our WWW experiences. Imagine; the Web minus X! Glorious!
Brave Search has feature called “Rerank” (accessible next to the settings cog icon) which you can use to discard some domains from future search results (like X if you so wish).
Thanks for the share. That way requires a user to have all those sites open first, to then basically down-vote them one at a time, and then, they get wiped along with their cookies. With uBlock Origin (on FF), I have them listed in My Filters; that’s a permanent setting, however, it only blocks them from opening should I accidentally click on any of them. It does not control search results. But that was the general idea; a way to use Brave (or SP or DDG ?) to reshape the web search experience in a more permanent way. So there’s a request to those who code Brave Search & Browser as a new integrated feature!
@PAA Brave Search has kind of already done this by way of Brave Search “Goggles”. Note that this only applies to Brave Search results, but it does allow you to cater the Search results you view to your own bias/preference and exclude others.
For example, you stated above that you do not want to see social media sites in your search results. For this, you can open Goggles, then search for and enable any (or all) of the Anti social media Goggles:
