[macOS Tahoe 26.1] Brave PWAs Fail to Launch Independently (Only opens if Brave is already running)

I’m encountering a critical issue with Brave PWAs on the latest macOS.

  • Issue: PWAs installed via Brave (v1.84.141) on my Mac mini M2 will not launch as standalone apps unless the main Brave Browser is already open.

  • Symptom: The PWA icon bounces briefly then disappears. It only runs if the main browser process is active.

  • Tried: Updated Brave to latest (v1.84.141) and reinstalled PWAs.

Is anyone else on macOS Tahoe 26.1 experiencing this? Have you found any temporary workaround or fix to enable independent PWA launching?

Not seeing this issue on my end using macOS Tahoe 26.1 on the latest Brave build:

Have you confirmed that you have the app set to Open as window? Any extensions installed at this time?
