M4 Mac - Youtube Video Playback - Glitchy, Freezing, Stuttering with Hardware Acceleration turned on with Brave flags

Youtube Video Playback is choppy/freezes/glitches repeatedly every 20-30 seconds or so.

I’m using a Mac Mini M4 with 32gb of Ram. Only brave running on a fresh boot, no anti-virus or anything else running in the background. Low CPU and memory utilization.

If I turn off “Use Hardware Encoding / Decoding” in the Brave Flags the problem goes away.

Version: 1.85.118 (Official Build) (arm64) / Chromium: 143.0.7499.169

In Safari and in Firefox (with hardware acceleration turned on) there is no problem.

Tried also a fresh install of Brave without my settings sync’ed and the problem happens as well so something is broken in this later version of Brave.

Search the Brave Community for tips . . . using terms:
video, D3D11, Metal, NVIDIA, Angle Graphics, OpenGL, Vulkan, WebGL, Skia Graphite (skia-graphite)

And search, using those terms, in a Brave Browser New Window at brave://flags - where you may experiment. Test those switch positions with graphics / acceleration ON and OFF.
