Latest versions exhibit sluggish performance on macOS

Description of the issue:
The last few days, Brave has exhibited noticeably sluggish performance on macOS Catalina. I disabled hardware acceleration, but the issue persists.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Use Brave on macOS 10.15, with, or without, hardware acceleration enabled.

Actual Result:
Sluggish performance

Expected Result:
Faster performance

Always

Version 1.26.74 Chromium: 91.0.4472.124 (Official Build) (x86_64) on macOS 10.15.7 (19H1217).

Reproducible on current live release (yes/no):
Yes

Additional information:
I’m using macOS Catalina v 10.15.7.
