I gotta say.. I do like Brave better than FF, Edge, Chrome. My only complaint about Brave is lack of Master Password for the Password Manager. Otherwise, Brave seems to me to be the superior browser currently out. I’ve set Brave as my default browser.
I’m going through settings, just customizing the browser; testing this and that.
In the “OnStartup” section, I’m setting it to open to DuckDuckGo. I assumed this is the “Homepage”.
Under “New Tab Page”, I set it to “Homepage”, thinking that DuckDuckGo will be the page that loads in a new tab. Nope. It’s opening a new tab to “Dashboard”. I set it to “Dashboard”, and the exact same page appears. Switch it back to “Homepage”, open a new tab, “Dashboard” opens.
I’m setting it back to “Blank Page”, as I’d rather have nothing appear as opposed to the Dashboard.
I’m just curious if this was intentional, or a ‘bug’.
Linux Mint 22.1 Xia with MATE desktop on a VM (Windows host)

Installed via Terminal from brave.com (thank you, @fmarier )
When you enable Show home button you have the spot to be able to put in whichever website you want. This is where the Homepage is.
Based on your explanation, you never chose a Homepage. So of course if you set it to go to your Homepage, it would have been going to the default which is the Dashboard. That’s the issue. It’s not a bug, but just is that you didn’t have all your settings completed for what you desired.
