Version 1.77.85 Chromium: 134.0.6998.118 (Official Build) beta (64-bit)
Windows 10
Every time I try to download something with Brave I get a message “Virus scan failed” and the file is not saved in my computer.
I tried disabling my antivirus (kaspersky), does not help
In Brave settings I tried setting “No protection” (in Security), does not help
Any suggestions?
Alternatively, how can I perform a complete clean reinstall of Brave include all user preferences etc?

The same is happening to me, but it’s happening in Edge as well.
I’m using Brave version v1.77.100 and Sophos Home.
I don’t know when this started, but I noticed it yesterday and now can’t download anything at all.
I have tried downloading a file in Firefox and have had success, I assume it’s a Chromium issue?
Likely a Chromium issue, yes. Can you confirm that you have the Safe browsing feature enabled in Brave?
Same problem started for me today. Anyone discover a cause or solution?
In my case my VPN did not exit correctly with a service component still running. Closing that using task manager fixed the issue.

I had the same issue. I found this a few months back and it worked for me>>>https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=N-OWvSlphyQ&pp=ygURdmlydXMgc2NhbiBmYWlsZWQ%3D <<< I apologize for having the wrong link. This one should work
The registry edit mentioned in the YT video is described at:
Information about the Attachment Manager in Microsoft Windows
No example URL was given to a web site where the file download failed. The file would get a tag showing it was retrieved from the Internet zone. Maybe the site was pointing to an .exe file instead of a .zip file containing the .exe file.
