Is there any way to disable auto translate?
Having moved into germany recently, Brave translates everything to german despite explicitly being told not to, I have all the settings disabled and I even have it so that it automatically translates german to english, and it just does nothing, whenever I google something, everything is translated to german. I had lived in a non english speaking country beforehand and this issue didn’t exist. Now all of a sudden it does. Any way of disabling it? Its making Brave completely unusuable, so I’ll either have to switch away from using Brave, or find some workaround.
Go to Settings → Languages → Disable ‘Offer to translate pages’.
I have that disabled and everything still gets automatically translated.
Oh, how strange that even if you have it disabled, it still translates automatically. Would you mind showing me a screenshot of what’s causing the translation problem? Thanks.
Disable both options, as shown in the screenshot, and try another foreign page to see if the automatic translation works.
@Onyx Were you able to solve the problem to prevent it from being automatically translated?
Nope, the issue is still very much here, and is making brave entirely unusable right now as there’s no way to translate it back to english.
Is your OS/System locale set to German or English?
Its been set to english since I got this pc.
Can you please confirm whether or not you see this same behavior in other browsers? If you launch Chrome or Edge for example and visit some websites, do you see them translated into German or do they appear as intended?
It happens on every browser.
