How to change mailto handler in Brave?

How can this issue be reproduced?

1. Went to brave://settings/handlers
2. Removed the Gmail.com’s mailto default handler
3. Then the options are empty and I have no option to add a new handler.

The only I see is a selector (which is activated) called “Allow sites to ask to become default handlers for protocols (recommended)”.

But nothing else. Where can I add my own mail service (Protonmail, Yahoo, Live, etc.) to handle the mailto function in Brave?

Brave and mailto: handlers

Description of the issue: I know this has been discussed before on these forums, but the suggested solutions don’t work. All of a sudden, Brave has started to handle email links on developer support pages by opening another tab and sending me to my gmail account instead of sending the link to my email client.
