How do I transfer sessions/cookies from Brave Stable to Nightly to stay logged in on all websites?

Greetings Brave team!

I am making a transition from Brave Beta to Brave Nightly and I want to keep all my logins (sessions/cookies) of the websites without going through the re-login process all over again.

I have already installed both browsers — this is seen in the screenshot provided — and I have also noticed that there are two different Brave processes running(co-existing) (Brave Browser (53) and Brave Browser (46)).

Question:Is it possible to transfer session/cookie data between these two versions of Brave in a way that the transfer is risk-free or in an official manner, and I will still be signed in on all the websites?

I do remember that the user data of the profile is generally saved in various places(Brave→BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser-Beta, Nightly→BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser-Nightly),but I just want to know if there is a way that is least likely to cause corruption or conflict(compared to others) which involves copying certain folders like Default, Cookies, or Sessions).

My setup:

Operating System: Windows 11 PRO

What I have done so far:

Brave Nightly has been installed.

I tried to import data using Brave’s import settings — but only bookmarks/history got transferred and not cookies or sessions.

I have transferred the user data and default folders of the whole profile from Brave Beta to Nightly via Windows Explorer.

After starting Nightly, the browser went back to its original state and the data that I copied was deleted.

I have also experimented with cookie/session transfer extensions but these did not work either — no cookies were restored.

Normal operation: To be logged in to the websites after the migration from Beta to Nightly (i.e., keep session data).

Thank you so much! :folded_hands: If the manual transfer is not an option due to encryption or profile isolation — I would appreciate your confirmation so that I can make necessary arrangements.

Sometimes the best solution is the most inconvenient, I had to recently wipe a bunch of data and start over/login to everything again in a seperate case (seen here), I’d encourage you to just do the simple but long way to fix what you’re looking to do.

But if you want to wait it out for further support I’m curious what they’ll say…
(Also, I’m just a user, not a Brave employee, to be clear).

I looked and what is certain that it will work and achieve my desired effect?

To be clear, my suggestion is to not try and transfer things, rather, just start fresh… logging in with the new version of brave… though with that I would also encourage you to just use the stable version of brave rather than beta or nightly… but you do you and again wait for further assistance if you don’t want to go with my suggestion.

I’m still waiting for help, but thank you.

I’ll have to check but I don’t think sessions will be retained if the files themselves are moved this way. Your best bet may actually be to use Brave Sync for this.

Further I agree with @User.1.000.000.000 that it may not be worth the hassle and might ultimately be faster if you just export your password data, import into the other browser versions and sign back into the relevant accounts.

Brave Sync is faulty because it detects only one computer and synchronisation does not work, but I know it is worth it because, in my case, Nightly runs more efficiently than Beta and uses less RAM (with the same extensions and websites).

I am waiting for further help.
