Hi there. Brave is a good browser, but it has this “feature” that is the absolute worst. It won’t allow me to remove the search function from the url bar. I don’t want to use the url bar to search. EVER. I only want to use it for navigating websites. In firefox, this is easy to figure out, and I have it so I can, say, type “yahoo” and instantly go to yahoo.com. In Brave, I get a duckduckgo search of the word “yahoo.” This is ridiculous. Please tell me how to delete search functionality from Brave Browser.

There is an open Github issue regarding the subject, but unfortunately work in this direction is not expected any time soon.
You could use Github issue’s author’s workaround - an invalid default search engine, but that looks quite uncomfortable, personally to me.
