How do I remove the lower toolbar in Brave?

I am referring to my bookmarks that appear under the address bar. I had imported my bookmarks to Brave, and I no longer want them to automatically appear when I open the Brave browser.

@Moodyfan77 to disable bookmarks you have to go to settings menu brave://settings/appearance show favorites bar and click never

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I did not make myself clear.

I would like three or four specific bookmarks to show but no more. When I try to cut one, a new bookmark will appear on the extreme right.

Thank you again.
Hal

Have you used the Bookmarks Manager? brave://bookmarks/

…or are you talking about Top Sites on the New Tab Page? (You can right click and remove)

Sorry, I’m not sure I’m understanding you either, if you are able to provide screenshots that might be helpful. (You can do so by clicking on the “hard drive with the arrow pointing up” button in a message)

@Moodyfan77,
The bookmarks that appear on the bookmarks bar are any bookmarks stored in the Bookmarks folder in brave://bookmarks. The bar will list any bookmarks it can fit that are stored in this folder until it runs out of room on the screen.

If you want to only show four (or whatever number) of bookmarks on the bar, then you’ll need to move any other bookmarks out of that folder and into a different bookmarks folder. For example, here I have four bookmarks showing on the bar:

If I go ahead and move (click/drag, cut/paste, etc) the bookmark for Reddit from this folder into the Other bookmarks folder, it disappears from the bar:

Mattches,

Thank you! Your description was excellent, and I now have the bookmarks I want.

I just installed Brave a couple of days ago, and I am working my way through it.

Thanks again,
Hal
