Hi, I am currently seeing the GPU process “…rack-uuid=3190708988185955192,” when typing “nvidia-smi,” in the terminal. After closing Brave Browser said process disappears. If someone could look into whether or not this is intended that would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Probably expected behavior, for a Brave GPU-accelerated process. Perplexity.ai:
Brave uses Chromium’s GPU sandboxed process to accelerate rendering, video decode, and compositing, and that process shows up as a CUDA/OpenGL client in nvidia-smi on systems with NVIDIA drivers.
The long rack-uuid=... argument is an internal identifier Chromium/Brave passes to its GPU process and is not itself an NVIDIA GPU UUID or an indication of malware.
