[Feature Request] Translate feature in Brave Search

Description of the issue:
I would like to request a Native Translate Feature in Brave Search just like duckduckgo has.

Currently, there is no way to translate text using brave search or a dedicated translate page like google translate.

I managed to ask Leo on sidebar to either translate to specific language and paste the text to translate(that requires lots of typing to tell to translate to which language)

or select the text and make Leo AI to explain it.

There is a page translate built into Brave already:

Once enabled, you can choose to translate the page you’re viewing (if applicable) by clicking the “translate” icon in the address bar:

Hello @Mattches, Thanks for replying.

I think there is some misunderstanding about page translate and dedicated translate URL page where we can manually enter text to translate. I tried to add brave search related topic.

Let’s look at an example:

  1. In this case, translate on twitch is not working (no translate button showing in omnibox).

  1. Since translate is not working and i have a text to translate, I have to look for a website to translate to.

So, I have to open https://duckduckgo.com/&q=translate to paste the text there on a search widget to translate or search for translate in google search which shows a translate widget too. I proposed to having something like a separate url like translate.brave.com similar to translate.google.com or a search widget like both ddg and google has on the search page. So we can go there and use native Brave Search Translate instead of using duckduckgo translate or google translate.

I hope this example make sense.

Yeah, we do need translate feature to be available by force and at all times; the ‘google translate’ extension just stopped this feature.

Also include seperate loading icon so we atleast know this page translation is now complete.

yea, this is exactly what we need. there is no reason not to implement this, cannot believe they don’t care about it, really disappointing

@Clemi (and others), again – this feature is already implemented. While I understand the “desire” to have this feature implemented in Brave Search directly, at this time that is not a priority, given that the browser has built in translation functionality.
