I am a long-time user of Brave and love the privacy features. However, I’ve noticed that downloading large files using the built-in download manager can sometimes be slow or unreliable compared to dedicated tools.
I’d like to request an option to use external download managers like 1DM or ADM, similar to how Firefox for Android handles downloads.
Why this would be helpful:
Speed: External managers use multithreading to download big files much faster.
Reliability: They are much better at resuming downloads if the connection drops.
Efficiency: They handle background downloads better without being killed by the system’s battery optimization.
A simple toggle in the “Downloads” settings to “Use External Downloader” would be a game-changer for many users.
