Feature Request: Always Ask/Prompt Before Opening Links in External Apps Outside of Brave (Android)

Description of the issue: Currently, by default Brave on Android automatically opens links in external apps without users’ consent. This creates serious privacy, safety, and security risks for everyone, especially non-technical users such as children and elders. Please change this behavior to always prompt the user before opening links outside Brave, and display the full URL with handling options (select, copy, share) so users can control the link and choose whether to open it in Brave or in an external app. Also add a setting that lets users choose between “always ask before opening links inside apps outside of Brave” and “never open links inside apps outside of Brave”.

Brave Version( check About Brave): Brave 1.89.137, Chromium 147.0.7727.102

Mobile Device details: Realme C55 phone. Android 13; Build/SP1A.210812.016

Additional Information: I really hope this feature gets implemented in the upcoming releases. Thank you for your consideration.

I understand. My request to Brave browser (Android) developers is to stop automatically redirecting links opened inside Brave to external apps outside of Brave because this poses serious risks to many users, especially non-technical users. Instead, Brave should by default always ask for confirmation before redirecting links to external apps. This is how a privacy-focused browser should operate. Moreover, instead of the current toggle that either “Allows All” or “Blocks All”, there should be two options: one to always ask before opening links in external apps, and another to never open links in external apps.
