I have been using Brave on and off since it’s release and I have recently migrated to full time use everywhere; at home, at work and on the go. I work in the IT industry and I spend a lot of my free time at a computer.
I have enabled Brave Rewards on all my devices and so far I have received two months worth of payouts. I have all the options enabled and have set the maximum ads per hour to 10.
In September I recieved just 0.68803 BAT, in October I recieved even less (0.48688 BAT). Considering the value of BAT today this equates to about £0.07 a month, which considering the distractions and time I invest looking at these ads it seems like an absurdly low amount.
Due to how much I spend in front of a computer and using Brave, I would have considered myself to be amongst the higher earners for Brave Rewards. Unless there is something wrong, I don’t see much point in keeping Brave Rewards enabled.
Out of interest, what are other people earning?

@Robula Brave has historically paid around 0.005 BAT per ad. I’ve questioned why that rate hasn’t changed much, but after doing quite a bit of math and investigation, I shared my findings here: Saoiray's Discussion about Rewards payout amounts
When you set your ads to a maximum of 10 per hour, keep in mind that’s exactly what it means: the maximum possible, not a guaranteed amount. What you actually receive depends on how many ads are being served in your region and how much advertisers are paying.
Also, any ads promoting Brave’s own products (like Brave VPN or the Brave Technologist Podcast) don’t pay anything. So if you saw 0.68803 BAT total, that means you received around 137 paid ads. That’s not much, and it’s easy to hit that number just through New Tab Page ads if you have those enabled and set to the Dashboard.
For comparison, it’s October 8 and I’ve already seen 249 ads:
I typically earn about 2–3 BAT per month, which comes to around $0.25–$0.40. It’s not great compared to the nearly $5 a month we used to get, but that’s just where things are now.
Brave pays users 70% of ad revenue, and ad prices themselves aren’t particularly high. They also aren’t selling a large volume of ad space at the moment. Supposedly more features and opportunities are on the way, but we’ll have to see.
The main thing to remember is that you’re getting a small reward for something that’s essentially free. You’re not forced to engage with the ads, and any “distraction” or time you spend checking them is entirely optional. It’s up to you to decide if earning BAT or supporting Brave through Rewards is worth it.
