Every time I try to import bookmarks from Edge, Brave closes

I just got Brave and have tried about a dozen times to import my Edge bookmarks. I was able to import an older iteration but not my current list. Every time I try to do so, Brave just closes down. It’s not exactly off to a great start. I would welcome any suggestions.
