@Geschrei can you confirm that you downloaded the correct app for macOS systems using M1 chips? If you downloaded from brave.com directly then it should automatically fetch that for you.
Additionally, can you try downloading the non-Origin version of Brave and just test to see if the regular build crashes the same way?
Brave non-Origin runs fine, using the latest release (Brave 1.93.136 (Official Build) (arm64))
I can try downloading the standalone Origin again and see what happens. stand by.
If Origin continues to crash once you’ve reinstalled, I would check and ensure that you don’t have any 3rd party anti-virus software running that may be flagging Brave for some reason or try disabling any proxy/DNS filters enabled on your machine at this time and see if that makes any difference in the behavior.
No third-party anti-virus or proxy/DNS filters, not currently on a VPN, have updated to Tahoe 26.6.2 and installed the latest version of Origin directly from brave.com this morning - still crashes immediately when i launch it.

I’m having exact same problem with my mac mini m4. origin crashes but regular brave is fine. just bought it and can’t use it
Fix: Cursor found the issue:
The BraveSoftware folder is owned by root, which matches a known Origin crash. I’ll confirm Origin can’t create its profile, then fix ownership without touching your regular Brave data.
Brave Origin is running now. It was not actually looking for a file named Origin in your home folder.
The crash was this: Origin needs ~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware/Brave-Origin. That parent folder, BraveSoftware, was created by an old Brave installer as root, so Origin could not create its profile and died immediately with SIGTRAP. Regular Brave kept working because Brave-Browser was already there.
The message you pasted is macOS quoting around a bad path. The file “/Users/gcdinc/Origin” does not exist is what you get from open Origin (or a shortcut to ~/Origin). The real app is /Applications/Brave Origin.app.
What I changed:
~/Library/Application Support/BraveSoftware (your account, not root)Open it from Applications or Spotlight as Brave Origin. If it still dies after sleep, that is a separate known Origin bug; this launch crash was the permissions problem
