As soon as I start a download from an AI site, I get no sound anymore. Even after online conversion with download, I get no sound at all. Please fix this problem.

Alter.systems will probably try to guide you through a series of steps, in order to try and determine the cause of your issue. Please document what happens, and report back here.
Alter.systems is an AI site.
So I asked the AI ââand explained it in detail, and it only said that I have to change all the settings on my PC or in the Brave browser. But I had already copied all those settings and tried to configure them. Even though I knew all that without the AI, since Iâm familiar with this stuff, the problem can only be with the browser itself. Everything was fine in the previous version, and now almost nothing works in the Brave browser.
OK; but again â edit your Original Post (âOPâ) above, in order to include:
Please create an additional Brave Browser user Profile for test purposes, and during that setup, do not add anything, do not import anything, no extensions added; the idea is to have a test Profile that you might say, is âstockâ â no frills, no Brave Rewards, no Brave bells, no whistles.
Exit / Quit everything and Restart your computer. When you start up Brave Browser, select this âtestâ Profile . . . and test your issue.
Also, Brave Community member @MasterLink has a lot of experience with the granular controls re audio (and graphics); so probably, if he gets some time, he may also be interested in your issue.
Iâm actually not familiar with this one. As far as I know, Brave doesnât play sounds when a download finishes (I see no setting nor flags for it). When I watch the video, it seems to be able to play in-browser, but whatâs actually happening is VLC wonât play the generated mp3. Thatâs the curious bit, why is VLC refusing to play the mp3?
So hereâs what Iâd ask and where Iâd go with this one:
But most importantly, do you really have no sound at all after downloading? As in, after sound stops working, go fire up something else that plays sound, like a game, or anything else outside of Brave. Does it play sound? If so, then itâs likely the upper two points I made. If however even other apps really truly lost sound, then we might need to know what extensions are installed, some do tamper with audio streams and how downloads work (thereâs one extension another user had which was creating subdirectories which isnât a Brave thing either, âAIX Downloaderâ it was called. So itâs entirely possible an extension itself is whatâs causing the sound engine to fail if thatâs the case. I just donât see how though, WASAPI is a bit hard to âcrashâ and Windows 10/11 have a fairly robust sound mixing engine.
(The only other thing you can do, is if you have a high end sound card like I do, never use a sampling rate above 192KHz in Windows itself, most software DO break the sound engine this way. Reserve such sampling rates for the DAW exclusively via ASIO or WASAPI in Exclusive mode, but I donât want to get too ahead. Just trying to think ahead for myself in case I forget later.)
But honestly, other than what I stated, Iâm not entirely sure. Brave itself when downloading never triggers a sound event, so it canât be Brave doing it.
I had this problem before, and it was fixed with a browser update. However, since then, I keep getting this problem, and nobody seems to be reading or caring about it. Anyway, this and another problem is that all sounds suddenly have artifacts when playing. Thank you so much for your support, help, tips, and for taking the time to read this.
I donât have a graphics card at all, just an external sound card from Arturia Minifuse 1 Asio (old version card) (version number 7.5.09, which is set to the standard 44100Hz
Slightly confused, but, youâre welcome.
None of what I asked was answered, so Iâm unjoining from this discussion.
