My computer was suddenly slow, so i closed brave as usual and tried to restart the PC, but it was not shutting down so i forced it by holding the button ( this never happened before ).
After the forced restart, when i opened the Brave browser, all the tab groups in the bookmarks bar were lost, disappeared. I searched in the Brave installation folder to replace the sessions/tabs/bookmarks files with some old backups i had from before, but without succes. As i was searching, my AntiVirus detected a virus within the Brave installation folder called Generic.JS.ShadyPanda.A.67ED0D2F in User Data\Default\Extensions\eagiakjmjnblliacokhcalebgnhellfi\22.9.29.1452_0\background\fu*k.js .
I tried to replace all sessions, tabs and bookmarks files with old ones but my tab groups didn’t appear.
First of all, please make sure you fully remove all traces of that on your PC:
As for your tab groups, I’m unclear whether or not the two are related but I would check your History in the main menu – you should see any tabs, groups or windows (that show as folders in the menu):
