I’m someone who is a bigger fan of horizontal tabs. It just makes more sense to me.
I know that compact tabs is already a thing in Brave, at least via a flag. However, gaining more vertical real estate will need more effort. What I’m suggesting is to put a short (in width) address bar inside the tab bar for a true compact bar. This makes a huge difference. The reason I know this is because another browser called Helium has this and it. is. fantastic!
You get so much more screen real estate back, and you get that all while keeping horizontal tabs intact. It’s a beautiful thing. Here, see for yourself:
It’s very very convenient and slick. It just gets out of your way.
