Description of the issue:
When i click the brave shield icon it crash on my pc, i already tried the post where it involves flags, . But i can’t find #extensions-toolbar-menu
How can this issue be reproduced?
Open brave
Click on any webpage
Click on the brave shield icon
Expected result:
Brave crash/ exit by it self
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.38.111 Chromium: 101.0.4951.54 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
I tried it a few times just now and it crashes every single time. Also, on an unrelated note, is it just me or does brave shields have a memory leak? “Extension: Brave” was using 500,000k of ram in the task manager before it crashed when I clicked on the shields button. It doesn’t hurt my performance at all because I have 16gb of ram but it doesn’t seem right when ublock origin uses 1/10 the ram
My Brave Browser crashes every time at the time of clicking on active ‘Brave Shields’(ad blocking icon). I am using Brave version 1.2.42 on Windows 10 v1909. The same thing(crashes) also happened on Brave version 1.2.41.
It crashes when the Brave Shield is active but nothing happened on new tab/ settings(because, it remains off on these pages).[Screenshot_1]

@Mattches
Using a Mac, I found that . . .
Clicking on the site-specific Shields (Lion) icon that promptly displays its panel, causes a new process to show in the Brave Browser > Task Manager, called:
Private Extension: Brave
That new process - according to the BB Task Manager - uses no memory, nor CPU, and has no Process ID (“PID”).
All that is in addition to a pre-existing:
Private Extension: Brave
. . . that does use memory, a variable amount of CPU on occasion, and has a PID.
If any of that, helps diagnose.
