Chat doesn't work on many 'corporate' websites

Even with Shields down, I cannot access customer service chat on many sites when using Brave. E.g., Schwab, American Airlines, Citibank, American Express, etc. I have to open Safari or Chrome to chat.

Usually Brave does not show the hover chat icon in the corner.

This has been asked multiple times on the Brave forums, and never with an answer that I have found.

Any way around this issue?

@d0g0 do you need to be logged in to see the chat bubble you’re describing? I’m not seeing those in Chrome either.

I honestly only found one site that had such a popup, and it worked on Brave with shields enabled, Chromium and Firefox.

Cannot reproduce any other such contact us bubble on any browser if I’m not signed in (like asked, do we need to be?). I did on two sites see a “Feedback” tab on the right side which showed on Chromium and Firefox, but not on Brave, but when shields were disabled, that did appear. I assume that’s not what you are referring to though?

Can you please try opening a guest profile window (Menu --> More tools --> Guest profile) in Brave and test to see if these sites display the same there?

Something blocking the availability of:

• Chat Button source
• Chat process (might be an API) that will launch the Chat Window
• Click Event Listener
• JavaScript that is in charge of those

In Guest profile, I do see the bubble!

So I thought that indicated that it is one of my extensions blocking it. But I turned ALL my extensions off, and it still doesn’t appear in my main profile.

Ideas?

I would try clearing cache for those sites. You might also want to try fully removing your extensions, depending on how many there are.
