I’ve been using Leo AI for a lot of tasks and I’m happy with how it works, but I wanted to ask about one roadmap item - would it be possible to increase the character limit for instructions created under Shortcuts?
Currently it’s 5000 characters, and sometimes that’s not enough to write a better instruction.
The chat window itself has a much larger context, so right now I have to manually paste the instructions into it every time, which is pretty impractical.
As a temporary workaround, I’ve been using a text-expansion tool on my Mac. I set up a short trigger phrase that automatically expands into the full instruction prompt directly in the input field. While this gets the job done, it remains an unnecessary extra step.
It would be great if the Brave team considered raising the character limit for Leo Shortcuts. The current 5,000-character cap feels quite restrictive, especially considering how much larger the chat input context is. Bringing these limits closer together would make Shortcuts much more practical for longer, detailed instructions natively.
Almost all online entries - I develop / edit / write in a BBEdit document … and review.
But I am also learning at what I call “Prompt University” - College of Hard Knocks - figuring out how to enter what will help an AI service to focus … instead of wandering down yet-another AI inference detour.
