Can't remove sites from list of sites allowed to keep cookies

Under Settings > Privacy and Security > Site and Shield Settings > Cookies and site data

I have a bunch of sites that I added where I want the cookies to remain when I close Brave but I also see some sites that I did not (knowingly) add and which I can’t delete even though they have a trash can on the right – screenshot below. How do I get rid of these?

@Fellwalker57,
What happens when you click on the trash can icon next to the cookie(s) in question?

Nothing, as far as I can tell.

@Fellwalker57,
Very curious.
Can you try removing those cookies by visiting the site itself? For example, I see Youtube is on the list – can you try:

  1. Visiting Youtube
  2. Click “lock” icon in the address bar
  3. Cookies
  4. Select any/all cookies, then Remove
  5. Relaunch the browser

Let me know if the cookies for Youtube persist after performing these steps.

As it happens Youtube is not one of the ones in the list so I tried signing this with Twitter and Soundcloud but it made no difference.

I have this same problem on my desktop. I have several sites in Cookies and site data under the allowed heading that I am unable to remove. I’ve clicked the trash can, but they do not delete.

I have even done a fresh install on a separate laptop that originally had nothing under the allowed heading. Right after the install, a few sites suddenly appeared and I am also unable to remove those. You’ll see some examples in the screenshot I’m uploading. The “funnyquiz.blog” site is one of the ones that appeared after my fresh install.

Pleased to see I am not alone in this! I have received no helpful advice from Brave on dealing with the issue.

@Mattches I tried your solution which worked for some cookies/sites but not others. I reset Brave to clear them. I agree that the Block/Clear on exit/Allow cookies does not work as well as Edge.
