Can't change my default search engine

Hey guys,

I tried to change the default search engine but I’m being able to

There is no drop down option for google and I can’t manually add new search engines.
I’ve tried to reinstall the brave app several times but nothing works

I’m using a windows 11

No option to add search engine in Brave

@Johndoebrrave You don’t see the Add button next to Site Search? That’s how you add it. Little Tip: Don’t be afraid to click on buttons. It’s also very helpful to spend your time looking at what options are available to you. Just like once you click Add on Site Search, you should perhaps also wonder, what do these three dots, the hamburger menu, do? From there you’d see you can set it as your default search engine. Can't add search engine

@SmartyAadi and @ogghi it does exist. It just isn’t the format you might be thinking. You add new search engines under Site Search. Then you can Make Default and it will become your default search engine and will shift from Site search to Search Engine. [image] [image] I did !n just because. You can type in any shortcut you want. Brave is now preventing adding custom search engines

@presearchuser you’re doing it wrong. You don’t put in the website only. You have to do a search on it and then replace your search term with %s So it would be: (I’m creating more steps than it really is, probably should combine some of these, but it is what it is) Step 1. Go to https://presearch.com/ Step 2 Search an item. Let’s pretend it’s Aliens. Step 3 Look at Search/URL bar. Also, why do you have Index other search engines disabled? What you’re doing here is saying you don’t want Brave to automatically add other search engines for you to use. If you turn it on, Brave adds things to the list so you have additional options for search engines.

Yeah it was weird because I just installed brave as it is and didn’t touch anything else, maybe this machine was used before with a different setting or something?
But thanks I added the site search and made it default thanks!!
