Description of the issue: When visiting Downdetector, after selecting a “Service” to view, within a second scrolling gets locked. How can this issue be reproduced?
Additional Information: Windows 11 25H2, no custom content filters for this page whatsoever.
Video of behavior:
I did expect there to be a popup blocking the scroll when shields were off, but oddly, there’s nothing I see that I need to acknowledge as I did consider that.
Good catch! I didn’t even notice that. I felt like the page “shifted” but never really observed what shifted. It was the scrollbar conking out of existence.
@fanboynz when you get the chance, do you mind looking into this? I believe this might be something you can look into.
Seems @289wk can reproduce it on Mac OS Brave as well. I didn’t test Linux Brave as unfortunately both my Linux VM’s today crashed during Linux updates and are now both in a bad state, but I assume the issue will be the same since Mac OS is affected, and in both our cases, we lose scrollbars (something 289wk caught that I missed but now can confirm too on Windows).
I’ve also updated components, so far nothing, not even on the YouTube page, but yea all of the services are the issue, not just the YouTube page there.
(I usually reserve hitting Resolved until I verify resolution, but it was solved for me, not by me. So for now I’m going to unresolve it until I can verify resolution.)
Opened an associated Developer Tools > Network [tab] window.
Sent Brave Browser to https://downdetector.com.
Clicked on the Hulu service.
Watched the Developer Tools > Network [tab] window develop.
Reloaded that Developer Tools > Network [tab] window a few times, while trying to also eyeball the https://downdetector.com/status/hulu/ window . . . looking for the moment when the right-hand vertical scroll bar disappeared.
Seemed to me, that the right-hand vertical scroll bar SURVIVED until the arrival of 4 items showing in the Developer Tools > Network [tab] window . . . that I therefore, blocked:
I wouldn’t be posting because I’m out on a gig playing keyboards (music), but I had to check real quick on break, yes I confirm it’s working. (I’m way too dedicated to helping this browser, but really, it was a 10 minute break. Didn’t need to update anything, just worked.)
