I was filling out another request earlier and I went to copy the software version from the About page but there’s apparently a conflct around being able to copy the information and turning on developer options. Probably using the same field for two functions is probably a bad choiced you probably ought to pull the user’s Brave version into the template rather than making everyone chase after it.
It is of interest to those who would try to help you with your issues.
This forum is just like any other website you could visit in Brave. No browser broadcast its exact version to the sites you visit, including this forum.
Apologies but I’m not sure I understand what the issue here is at this point?
We can’t prefill it because there’s no way for us to get it since it’s on your machine. You do need to be able to see/find it. Let’s say there’s a large scale malicious software attack that affects users on Brave version [1.23.456]. It would probably be helpful to know if you’re currently on that version, right?
I think this falls into the much more general category of why it’s useful to know about the things you’re using. I suspect you know how to find the VIN number on your car, the circuit breaker in your house, even though you probably don’t use them often.
