Can I transfer my wallet from one laptop to another?

Briefly describe your issue:

What Operating System and Brave version are you using? Linux

Who is your verified custodian? Brave wallet

Are you in a supported region? US

Hey team, Im using a work laptop to earn some rewards. My employer has decided to upgrade my machine so is there a way to transfer my wallet from the old laptop to the new one?

And related, how do I “wipe” the old one to make sure there is no trace of it?

Transferring Brave Wallet to a New Laptop (Linux)

Brave Wallet (crypto): Backup your recovery phrase on the old machine (Settings → Wallet → Backup), then on the new laptop select “Already have a wallet?” and enter your phrase. Done.

Brave Rewards (BAT): Rewards are device-bound — connect to a custodian (Uphold/Gemini) on the old machine before switching to avoid losing your balance.

Wiping the old laptop: Delete ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/ to remove all Brave data. For a work machine, ask IT for a full disk wipe to be safe.

:warning: Back up your recovery phrase before wiping anything — there’s no recovery without it.

Brave Wallet (Crypto): Open brave://wallet on your old laptop, go to Settings > Security, and back up your 12 or 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase. On the new laptop, select Import existing wallet and enter that phrase.

Brave Rewards: Set up a Sync Chain (brave://settings/sync) between both laptops to move your browser data. Note: Pending “estimated” rewards don’t sync over the cloud; try to swap machines right after a monthly payout if possible.
