Troubleshooting technical issues is much easier when both the user and support agent practice clear communication. For this reason, we have provided the template below for you to fill out with information about your issue. Please provide as much detail as possible so we can most efficiently resolve your problem.
Description of the issue: When “Show autocomplete in address bar” is disabled, if you start to type something in the address bar to search and then go to another tab and then come back to the tab you started to type a search string on the address bar and continue typing your search string, when you hit enter to search, the search results are only for the first portion (what you entered before changing tabs and coming back) and not your complete search.
Here is how you recreate the problem. (1) Disable “show autocomplete in address bar”. (2) Open two tabs. One tab can be blank, the other tab can be anything open your favorite site, doesn’t matter. (3) on the first tab, type something to search. For example, type “How to search” (4) go to second tab and do something, e.g.: read the screen on your favorite site (5) go back to the first tab where the address bar reads “How to search” and complete your search string. Change the address bar to read “How to search with address bar using Brave Browser”. (6) Press enter.
The expected results would be search results for “How to search with address bar using Brave Browser”
Actual results will be search results for “How to search”
