Browser slow and delayed

My Brave browser has suddenly just become practically unusable after having no previous issues. It is incredibly slow and delayed carrying out all functions with delays in browsing, opening/closing tabs etc. I cleared all history/cache etc, uninstalled & reinstalled, and experimented with settings eventually just restoring to default but nothing works and the delay persists. This also affects the experience in websites/loading media etc. It is not hardware related as chrome runs seamlessly in terms of speed which I’m now being forced to temporarily use. Any assistance on why this could have happened and a resolution would be appreciated.

Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> System --> Graphics Acceleration.
