Chrome had scrollable tabs on the chopping block for a while. I said in the past that they should be made a core feature of Brave, so they would be safe. But they never were, and now, they’re gone.
Now I’m stuck using vertical tabs — and before anyone says I’m not, yes, I am. I have a lot of tabs open, and if I keep them at the top of windows, the tabs become so small that they’re unusable — and before anyone helpfully suggests that I just have fewer tabs open, no, that’s not helpful, and my browser should accommodate my browsing habits, not dictate them.
So my only option right now is the side bar, and I don’t really like it. Even with the longest delay before expanding, selectable under flags, it still opens at times when I don’t want it to, and it gets stuck. Plus it’s easy to open it by accident with sites like Gemini, where the navigation options are on the left side. And I don’t think moving the tabs to the right side would really help, either, because then I’ll just open them accidentally when I want to use the scrollbar.
Please, can we make scrollable tabs a core feature, so I can put the tabs back at the top of the browser window again? Can we please do that?
