Brave Won't Open On Ubuntu 16.04

I was just using Brave fine today (for the most part), but for some reason Express VPN stopped working with it (whenever I connected I was unable to access the internet through Brave, but Firefox worked perfectly fine). So I uninstalled and reinstalled Brave, hoping that would fix the problem. Now it doesn’t work at all. When I tried to open it Brave disappears from the launcher and doesn’t open. I looked around for solutions but none of them worked. I’ve removed brave, purged, cleaned, updated, then reinstalled about 30 times now and get the same results. Is this something that can be fixed or should I just stick to Firefox?
