Type of device (Desktop, iPhone/iPad, Android phone, etc.): Desktop Windows 10
Brave version: latest version with the VPN as few days ago.
Detailed** description of the behavior: I followed instructions to click on the settings 3 bar and selectBrave VPN with intention of toggle on or whatever is required however, when i click it brings up a promo for me to purchase VP and the bottom says if youve already pruchased it click here. I did and it only sends me a link to download it again. Ive already done this 3 or 4 times a few days ago and it still will not work. Ive also added it to my android phone and it works well. I did find in settings a button to turn on the VPN which I did but there is no way for me to tell if it is really working and this option as quoted here**
“… the Brave VPN button, typically located next to the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of the browser window. If the button is present and the toggle is in the “on” position, the VPN is active. You should also see your current region displayed next to the toggle.”
As noted above I’ve already done this several times over the past few days and it only gives the ad to purchase it and if I already did theyll send me a link to download which Ive done but still same result each time. I dont want to buy this just for the phone I mostly need it for the desktop PC. If that is not gonna work I’d prefer a refund and cancel the whole thing.
Thank you for a quick response. Im using the 7day trial and would like to see it work before the 7 day runs out. Thanks
Download what? There’s no download. I’m guessing you mean to buy or subscribe?
This is how you login. There’s no username and password. You put in the email and it sends you a link that you click in, which then logs you into the account.
Thank you for your quick response.
I 've purchased BRAVE VPN on my desktop PC (not by phone) See receipt from Brave as an Attahment in this email message to you.
To clarify my question, here is what I’ve done several times over a few days:
Under the MENU (3 lines at top right of Browser)
I cursor down to BRAVE VPN and selected it and
This is what I see:
Brave VPN Powered by Guardian
Extra Privacy & security online
Hide your IP & change your location
Hundreds of servrs around the world
Lightning-fast connection speeds
Protect up to ten devices with one plan
Start 7-day-free trial
Already purchased Brave VPN?
(sorry 'Ive had to retype it because the screenshot did not work for this one)
So When I clicked “Already Purchased Brave VPN?” here is what I see (Ive been able to screenshot this one):
So I select “Get Login ink” and it sends me the link to my email address.
I then click the link which “DOWNLOADS” for me to Install. The same link again.
I do that and it does Install BRAVE again.
Then I go to the (Brave Menu as stated above) scrolled down and select Brave VPN and again, theres no option to show me whether its activated or not. The only thing it does is open what I’ve just described above, and the process starts over and over again, asking me to either purchase again or select the link below if already purchased.
I never said anything about any username and password.
So This is what I’ve tried unsuccessfully to communicate.
Sorry but that’s why I’ve had to do the screenshots. Hope you understand.
I 've purchased it on my desktop PC (not by phone) See receipt from Brave as an attachment in this email.
I look forward to resolving this issue ASAP.
Thank you very much.
@usewisdom ah, hold on a sec. I think I’m connecting some dots here on the confusion. When you’re clicking on the link, where is that at? To be clear, you have to click the link to launch in Brave. If you’re opening it in another browser, then it won’t work. Or if you’re using a separate email client and its trying to open it in itself rather than Brave, it would be the problem.
Usually just clicking the link they send should open and take you right to your Brave premium account. There should be no download or anything.
-NOTE-
You should still be able to login regardless though. Like below is a screenshot where I logged in via Microsoft Edge by clicking the link it sent me to the email. But it wouldn’t be able to refresh or link it for the Brave VPN to work because it would have to go through the browser, which it needs in order to activate it
To get to the above, I just had to click the authorization link sent to the email. I blotted out my email and the link for security purposes, but yeah…
In Your Message You Said: " … To get to the above, I just had to click the authorization link sent to the email…"
However I did not receive That email Authorization link that you received. I see your screenshot where it stated …" Click the button below To access your Brave account" and it also shows a Login button below. I DID NOT RECEIVE THAT EMAIL
What I did receive is only one email stating that my subscription has been fully activated and
If I ever need to make changes to my subscription, I can cancel anytime by clicking a link.
(That means the money part of it e.g. credit card information). So I did not click that link because I did not wish to cancel or change my subscription.
That is a different email, which I did not receive. See below which is a copy of the only email I got from Brave. Its the same email I sent you, and the link is Not to Access my account.
I DID NOT RECEIVE THE EMAIL LINK LIKE YOU GOT.
Please have Brave support send me that link.
Thank you.
