Brave Tabs in Groups doesn't always work

Description of the issue:
I have tabs open, not all of them active, and added them all in groups.

If I close and re-open Brave the groups are sometimes not there anymore. but all the tabs are opened at once.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Don’t know? Open tabs and add them in groups. You have to close and open Brave a few or a lot of times.

Expected result:

The groups shouldn’t disappear and not all tabs should be opened nor should all of them be active at once.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

1.85.118 (Dec 19, 2025)

Additional Information:

I use Linux, the latest LTS version of Ubuntu.
