Brave Search site crashes on specific search terms "Error code: RESULT_CODE_KILLED_BAD_MESSAGE"

Description of the issue:

For some search terms, search.brave.com will error with “Error code: RESULT_CODE_KILLED_BAD_MESSAGE”
But with one letter changes to the search term, it will work as expected.

I stumbled onto these 3 examples in the last 3 weeks:

dichronic prism
retro demo competition
simplest secret service keychain

Specifically, using the brave browser, I type in the top search bar one of these 3 examples, and it will flash one frame of the results page, and then show the “Aw, Snap! Something went wrong when displaying this webpage. Error code: RESULT_CODE_KILLED_BAD_MESSAGE”

I get the same result when I go to search.brave.com, type the search into the field and press enter.
I get the same result when I refresh the page:

[https://search.brave.com/search?q=retro+demo+competition]
[https://search.brave.com/search?q=simplest+secret+service+keychain]

It is repeatable from my machine with these 3 search terms, but with one-word changes to the search term (like appending an “s”), it will work as expected.

Brave Version (check About Brave):

Version 1.70.123 (Hopefully this is not a problem, since this seems to be a website bug)

I use arch btw :)

Your version is highly outdated and I would strongly suggest updating. That said, I cannot reproduce the issue on search.brave.com that you’re seeing. I was able to search all these terms without issue:

Can you try opening a Guest profile (Menu --> More tools --> Guest profile), closing your original profile window, then in the Guest window, try searching those same terms in the same way and tell me if the issue is present in the Guest profile as well?

Fascinating. It works correctly in the guest profile.
And I did update now, and it also works for me on the latest release.
