Hello!
I used Perplexity for 2 years and am leaving it due to numerous issues it has since release and were never fixed. I’m moving to Claude and setting Open WebUI.
For Open WebUI, I setup SearGNX as engine for its Web Search, but on SearGNX logs I see I keep being blocked by search engines even though being the only user, so I started researching search engines. I found that, for Brave Search, SearGNX doesn’t support its API, SearGNX uses web scrapping, and that’s why I keep being blocked. Alongside that, I found that Open WebUI supports Brave Search natively.
So I decided to drop SearGNX at least for a while. This is my current config.
There are some configs IDK what they mean.
The issue is that Open WebUI constantly reports 8 or 9 search results only. And sometimes the answer says results didn’t provide useful information.
Another issue is that Brave Search seems to support maximum of 100 results, but it uses pagination and maximum of 20 results per page. And Open WebUI doesn’t support pagination. But anyway, I’m not even getting the 20 results.
In the future when I have time I plan to develop a python script to do the pagination and gather the 100 results, then research if I integrate it to Open WebUI or to SearGNX. But I won’t be able to do it soon.
