I appreciate the addition of new wallets to solve the limited Uphold wallets issue.

But why do you have to use Gemini? Gemini is known for every poor support and extremely long KYC process (6 months!).

Can we not add other wallets such as MetaMask or Coinbase?

I would like to add my voice to that request. In particular, it would be important to add a wallet, which is also supported internationally. Both Gemini and Uphold do not support many countries, like Germany in my case.
