Brave recognises localhost url as tracker

Description of the issue:
My site manages a background service running locally on a user’s computer. On page load, I try pinging http://localhost:35893/ to see if the service exists. However, brave recently started blocking the url on grounds of it being a cross-site tracker.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Head to https://lieuweberg.com/rich-destiny. No need to install, it blocks for me even if it’s not running.

Every time.

I notice this issue on more sites like a discord invite link (e.g. https://discord.com/invite/phaser). Brave blocks all localhost connections and marks them as trackers, whilst this is not true at all.
