Brave Playlist is unable to download new videos / audio from YouTube [Brave Beta]

Description of the issue: Some new videos can’t be saved to ‘Playlist‘

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open a YouTube Video in Brave

  2. Go inside the three dot menu and select ‘Add to Playlist’

  3. Open Playlist and wait

Expected result: Downloadable videos with no error messages

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.87 (192) / Version 1.89 (116)
BraveCore 1.87.192 (145.0.7632.160) / BraveCore 1.88.116 (146.0.7680.80)

Mobile Device details: iOS 26.4 (23E5234a), iPhone 17

Additional Information: This error does seem to occur on almost any video

Unfortunately, this issue still persists in the latest betas of Brave for iOS. Normal Brave doesn’t have any issues with this (yet).

Hello! We’re looking into a known issue with Playlist and adding new videos. However, if you long-press the video and select Add to Brave Playlist, this should work as a temporary solution. Please let me know if you run into trouble.

thanks for the reply and your temporary solution. However this is not quite the problem I am experiencing currently. In order to better show you my problem, I attached a screen recording. Therein I show step by step that “Add to Playlist” isn’t working at all.

This behavior is only observable in Brave Beta for me. Normal Brave from the App Store does work without any problems.

I am currently using an iPhone 17 with iOS 26.4.1 (23E254).
Brave Beta is on Version 1.90 (101).

Are you in a Private Window? Does it work in a regular browsing window?

I enabled Private Browsing Only in Brave Beta, but I checked it and it also does not work in regular browsing mode.

I hereby want to inform you that this issue is now also present in the stable app version of Brave for iOS. After the update installed yesterday, it completely broke the playlist feature for new videos. Videos saved before the update was installed do function as expected. However, new videos won’t save at all, and that with the same error message as demonstrated before. This issue happens in both normal and private browsing modes. The same issue is also still present in Brave Beta.

Please let me know if you need any more information about this issue.
