Brave no longer showing ads despite being enabled

Briefly describe your issue: Sorry, this is not brief. I included as much info as possible.

I noticed today that my browser has not been giving me ads despite them being enabled and being set to a maximum of 10 per hour. After checking my Brave Rewards ad history, I can see that I haven’t received an ad from Brave since October 22nd, I just didn’t notice until now. This was the first device I used with my Brave wallet and the first place I linked to Gemini in September. I successfully received my payout from September for this instance of my wallet so I’m not sure why October didn’t pay out or why I’m no longer getting ads (I had at LEAST 2 BAT earned in October, but my transaction history now says I earned nothing).

I have my Gemini account linked to four Brave Rewards wallets on four different devices. All four successfully paid out for September and the other three (the ones that I am still receiving ads on, not the one I’m reporting an issue with) paid out their correct balances for the month of October. I don’t have any idea why this browser (my most used, conveniently) is not receiving ads anymore.

I have tested sending a notification through the Brave troubleshooter and another test website and it worked just fine. I have changed nothing since I first set up the browser, except for increasing the ad maximum from 5 to 10 when they added that functionality.

I have checked the Rewards Internals page and ‘Ads enabled’ does say ‘true’ and has updated the catalog very recently. I’ve confirmed that I have ads available in my region (about 67 or so as of last night). My key info seed is marked as valid and I have no reason to believe that my wallet has been suspended.

The logs for Brave Rewards are filled with repeated errors of “Token List Empty”, “Claiming Tokens Failed” and “Failed to get Signed Tokens”. All of these are either coming from gemini_wallet.cc or credentials_promotion.cc. I’ve pasted some of the messages at the end of this post. These errors have supposedly been happening ever since I verified my wallet in September, but back then it would happen once or twice every couple days. Now, it is happening every few minutes. Not sure if its relevant but I thought it would be important to include, just in case.

I’m having a very similar issue. I had a single month (September?) where ads seemed to be working properly (i’d see them popup, and i’d click or close), that month had a lot of BAT received. Looking at my 30 day history has revealed I’m only apparently getting about 2 ads a day despite having it set to 10/hr. I like the Brave browser but would love to see this fixed.

My issue does not seem to be having errors, it’s just that ads seem to not be there at all for the most part.

Hi, i dont remeber the last time ive recieved an ad in the browser of my pc when in the past they appears normally, my countrie its in the list of countries with a campaings of adds (Argentina) and when i use brave in my phone (android) i recieve ads normally and in the pc nothing.

If your pc is installed with Microsoft Windows operating system, ensure that “focus assist” is off.

I have win 7 so i think i dont have that option, i have active the notifications and the ads in 10 per hour, but one day suddenly the ads doesnt appear anymore and i want to know why because i see some people with the same problem and i dont found the solution, in my phone i recieve the ads normally but in my pc not ,when in the past i saw it normally

Same issue, going back to Oct. I did a restore on my wallet and I was able to get ads again… now as of Dec. 15th, same issue is back. No longer receiving ads.

Gemini wallet would not update correct information even using refresh of data. I had to disconnect and reconnect Gemini in order for it to show accurate information.

Either Brave is disconnecting ads in order to save BAT distributions or they have serious debug issues going unaddressed.

Figure it out, its annoying to say the least. If you’re going to promote something then make sure you’re able to deliver.


I also had the same problem and sent a response that got the same response. I use a VPN and got automatically flagged by brave system. I don’t know how now

How did you find a support chat? I thought this was the only place you could get support for Brave.

I’m having the same issue as you can see here.

I think my wallet was wrongly flagged and this happened past month with my other computer.

Problem here too =_=… there are adds on the blank page but they’re not counted on the historial tag

Hey! I have the same problem!
Windows 7
I connected first this device
Then I connected other device in Win10 which is working
I connected this PC to Gemini and changed to 10 ads / hour
Gemini account disconected and I do not receive ads anymore

Apparently my wallet was flagged for “suspicious activity” and they will do nothing to fix the issue, despite me doing nothing suspicious or malicious. Thanks for nothing…
