Brave Nightly Leo Privacy?

Hello!

I recently discovered Brave and Leo. I am very surprised by the great privacy that brave offers, even in its AI service.

However, I was wondering: are there any differences in privacy between using Leo in Brave, compared to using Leo in Brave Nightly? The privacy policy is not very clear on this.

I know that Leo on brave masks the IP/act as a reverse proxy, no information is collected from the chat and messages do not remain saved on the Brave servers but only on the local device, ensuring that a message cannot be linked to the identity of a user, thus making it impossible to profile users and therefore it is impossible to sell their information for advertising. I’m not an expert, but it seems like a great guarantee of privacy. Especially compared to other famous sites that offer various AI models.

I was therefore wondering, are all these measures valid even if you use Leo in Brave nightly, or do you lose “privacy” compared to Leo in standard Brave?

@jonathan3 all versions of Brave are the same in that regard. The privacy policy is about the company and browser in general. There’s no standalone differentiation when it comes to Release, Beta, and Nightly.

+1 on @Saoiray’s post - we actually use the same Leo backend for both Nightly and Release, so we don’t differentiate between requests no matter where they come from
