Everytime I leave brave browser on an image tab , when I open the app again it keep redirecting me to the google app without even asking, it just automatically opens the google app and plops the same image page on google instead of keeping me on brave browser.
My default browser on my phone is brave browser but my default engine on brave browser is google. I just want to use google in brave browser , I don’t want it to keep opening google.
This is new behavior and I don’t want to disable the general feature. What changed and how can I undo what changed for this particular issue? Every time I switch apps on ios and go back to brave, if the brave tab happens to be Google, then it auto switches to the Google app! Chrome doesn’t behave this way.
This is really a problem. Earlier it’s been completely fine when like Instagram link opens to Instagram or Reddit link open to Reddit etc but Google opening the app all the time because of searches is seriously annoying. Brave on iOS never acted like this before.
I really do not wish to turn off this feature completely, but there needs to be an option to disable this for Google!
I am also facing a similar issue on IOS. This behavior appeared a few weeks ago for me. Disabling all external links is not a proper solution. You should be allowed to select which external app links you want to disable.
I’m not exactly sure how to recreate the issue, but when I have a recent google search tab stored away on the brave browser tabs and I try to open brave browser sometime later, upon opening Brave, it will automatically redirect to the Google app and open that recent google search tab on there.
I agree as well : so annoying.
I want my links to switch to YouTube app when I click one, but I don’t want to have an automatic redirection to google app at random when I’m searching anything…
Happens to me to. Earlier it prompted me to do it every time I visited google. A while a go I missclicked. And now it opens automatically every time. Hassle.. I’m on iOS
Yeah, same boat… It is reeeeaaallllly annoying. Disabling universal links is not a “fix”, it’s taking away functionality to stop the annoying behavior. I’m at the point where I’m just going to switch browsers… Every time I try to use this browser it takes me to the browser I wanted to avoid?
