So I had been predominantly a Firefox user because I was able to tweak the browser using about:config on desktop as well as mobile.
I cannot be more happy to see how brave has evolved over time (Past 1.5 years)
Brave now by default is my android browser, as it comes with most of the features that I expect from a modern browser, some of which a are :
- Strong AD blocking
- Fingerprinting and Tracking Resistance
- Fairly Lightweight On Device Battery
- Has Option For Custom DNS
- Allows me to use YouTube without Shorts, Comment Section, Recommended Content and Other YT bloat.
- Nice selection Of Content Filtering List Inbuilt
- Dark Mode
- HTTPS Only Mode
- Browser itself does not force users to experience its own bloat (I do not use Leo, News, or any crypto related stuff)
- Transparent & Trustworthy Company Practices Of Brave
- Most Importantly, A support community that is active and helpful.
Now there are some features that I would appreciate even further, like
- Unique Password Protected Screen (Different from device unlock password) That Prevents Anyone Other Than The User from Changing Any Browser settings (like cookies, dns, enable/disable particular filter list, enable/disable shield, etc)
- A browser (pure brave) without any crypto stuff (I am aware something like this is already in works)
Brave is one of the best browsers for android, and I might even argue its THE best browser on android at the moment.
Well done Team Brave. Its good to see someone who still believes in morales and ethics unlike some companies.
