After updating iOS to 26.6, the embedded(?) MP3 player controls on Archive.org pages with MP3 libraries is no longer functioning.
Noticed problem on The Shadow radio show page (and similar pages):
The page includes a scrollable directory of episode MP3s and player controls.
Since the iOS update, clicking the play button or one of the episode titles results in an error message “This video file cannot be played” and an error icon:
Problem also occurs on all similar old-time radio program library pages.
The Winamp player option on the page works fine, and downloaded MP3s play in other players. There are also no problems with these pages on the desktop MacOS browser.
Safari on iOS has the same problem. FWIW, ChatGPT thinks there is an issue with WebKit affecting embedded media in the latest iOS update.
Stats: Running iOS 26.6, Brave browser 1.92 (144). Both are the most current update.
