Brave hogs my screen

Sometimes I randomly hit a key and Brave hogs the screen

I require to see my task bar always. Brave hogs the screen covering my taskbar.

I expect “Escape” to get me out and minimize a-holes who hog the screen.

Escape does not work.

Please fix Brave and let the user get out of your window, “Settings, Brave Rewards, History, Bookmarks, Downloads, Wallet” nonsense.

Do not create an icon and fantasize others know what your intent is. That is childhood fantasy.
How do I get out of this?

Guessing you mean F11 which is the toggle for full screen? It’s like that for almost anything you use on your device.

Beyond that, I guess would say just be careful about not randomly hitting keys? Or at least learning what each key does so you can reverse it when/if you accidentally hit it. Not to mention, good to know what features you have.

You do a lot of judging and assuming what I do and what I know.
Note that F11 is located next to the Backspace key. I am not randomly hitting keys. However, I do work fast.

Your answer is F11 is a toggle.

I have never had a use for this feature and thus I have never had a use to learn F11 is a toggle.

@Bad_Matt I think it would be helpful to know whether or not when you “randomly hit a key” and Brave “hogs the screen” if the browser is or is not being displayed in fullscreen mode (whether or not you hit F11). If some combination of keys is being pressed to enter full screen mode, then you should see a message at the top, stating that you need to press and hold Esc to exit it:

Alternatively, I would check your system shortcuts in the browser (brave://settings/system/shortcuts) and ensure that some other key combination isn’t set to display the browser in full screen mode.

Other than that, there is no other function that would cause the browser to “hog the screen” and, more specifically, overlay your taskbar. The next time this happens, I would pause what you’re doing, recall the action(s) you were just performing and the associated keypresses you may have used to perform them and see if you can reproduce the issue again.
