Brave feels unfinished

I ran Brave as my main browser for almost 2 years. And it feels very rushed and incomplete overall.

Desktop:

  • Sync is unreliable and there is no support for custom profile pictures. It needs v3 rework asap.

  • Chromium bug with Windows MPO is still not fixed and its been YEARS. Electron apps glitch too because of this, making them barely usable.

  • The top UI feels a bit tight and short. Firefox in comparison nailed proportions there, imo.

  • Bookmarks management experience needs some work on readability.

  • Brave shields break Widevine content every now and then.

  • Dual tab / split tab feature has no icon or indicator anywhere other than right click. Its very hidden and unintuitive to use.

  • No Hardware Acceleration for Linux in 2025.

Android:

  • There is no button to “open page in app”, its either always opening by default or never.
  • The new bottom url bar experience is horrible, feels like an afterthought. I understand Brave seeks to keep Chromium for Android changes minimal, but still.
  • Element picker is too basic and requires a little more work to feel complete.
  • Finally, there are no extensions for Android. Again, this is probably Chromium issue. Its not as bad since adblocking is good.

And this is imo the best Chromium browser out there. State of browsers in 2025 is horrid.
